El Mayor anchors its tequila tradition deep in the earth. The tequila is made exclusively from high-quality Weber blue agaves that flourish in the rocky lowlands of Jalisco. These plants grow at an altitude of around 2,300 metres, where the mineral-rich sandy soil produces particularly juicy agaves, giving El Mayor Tequila a characteristic taste that reflects the regional warmth of Jalisco.

It is generally recognised that the quality of a distillery can be determined by its Blanco Tequila. This is because Blanco Tequila, as it is not barrel aged, expresses the natural flavours of the agave most purely. El Mayor 100% Blue Agave Blanco Tequila is characterised by a fresh, light body and subtle peppery notes and has won many awards for these qualities.
