Description

The James Eadie Glenlossie 16 Years Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a limited edition bottling of 697 bottles that impressively demonstrates the craftsmanship and passion of independent bottler James Eadie. This single malt was distilled in 2009 and bottled in 2025 after a total of 16 years of maturation – including a special 39-month finish in a first fill European Oak Oloroso Sherry Butt (cask no. 367510). This noble finish gives the whisky its exceptional depth, warmth and complex flavour, making it an outstanding representative of the Speyside region.

In the exclusive series “The Distilleries of Great Britain & Ireland”, James Eadie honours historic distilleries and their unmistakable character. This bottling is also released at cask strength (52.4% vol.), without chill-filtration and in natural colour to preserve the full authenticity of the whisky. The label features an illustration of a historic photograph of Glenlossie Distillery, recalling the distillery’s early years and placing traditional craftsmanship centre stage.

Tasting NoteColour: Dark amber with reddish-golden reflections.

Nose: Intense and multi-layered with aromas of sultanas, dried plums, toffee, vanilla and nutty oak.

Flavour: Full-bodied, smooth and complex with notes of dark chocolate, spices, candied fruit and sherry sweetness.

Finish: Langs, warm and elegant with fine spice and fruity sweetness.

The James Eadie Glenlossie 16 Years Old shows its full depth pure at room temperature or with a few drops of water to emphasise the variety of flavours of the Oloroso finish. It goes particularly well with mature cheese, roasted hazelnuts or desserts with dark chocolate and caramel. It also unfolds its spicy and fruity complexity in combination with game dishes, lamb stew or duck breast with a red wine reduction. A Speyside single malt with a strong character that epitomises the art of maturation in sherry casks at the highest level.
